The Lone Tree boys track team opened their outdoor season with a third-place finish at the Ruritan Relays hosted by Pekin. 

Cale Yoder brought home the only win for the Lions, tossing the shot 41-feet and one-half inch to take first by more than two feet. Yoder then placed fifth in the discus, throwing 100-feet 9-inches. 

Lone Tree’s Keegan Edwards scored in two individual events including a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash. Edwards ran a 57.40 in the 400 and finished only behind WACO’s Elijah McGohan, a state qualifier in the event last year. Edwards also placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 5-feet 2-inches. 

Konner Coppinger scored in the 200-meter dash, placing third with a time of 25.51. 

Harmon Miller added more points for Lone Tree in the 400, placing fourth with a time of 58.27. Miller ran ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38.76. 

Nick Saltzman was just six seconds from scoring in the 1600-meter run at 5:46.9 and Cale Christofferson ran a 5:56.10 to place 11th. Saltzman grabbed a point in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:55.37 and Christofferson was two spots behind him with a time of 13:19.89. 

Alex Viner finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.48 and Cade Patterson was ninth at 1:13.42. 

Freshman Cade Shield was fifth in the long jump at 17-feet and Viner was seventh at 16-feet 10.5-inches. 

Moses Martinez was 11th in the 100-meter dash at 13.39. 

Lone Tree picked up points in five different relays on the night including third in the sprint medley, fourth in the distance medley, third in the shuttle-hurdle relay, second in the 4x400 and third in the 4x200-meter relay.
