Lone Tree got to the free throw line and collected offensive rebounds, but couldn’t turn those into points in a 47-32 loss to Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom.
The non-conference loss pushes Lone Tree to 1-12 on the season, while BGM from the South Iowa Cedar League moves to 6-8.
Lone Tree did a lot right in the loss, but a 10-22 performance on free throws and shooting 10-48 and 2-20 from 3-point range saw Lone Tree only have one double-digit quarter.
They trailed by five points at halftime, but were outscored 15-6 in the third quarter and gave BGM a comfortable lead.
Holley Johnson had a team-high 11 points and was 9-14 on her free-throw attempts. Kasey Chown led the team in rebounds off the bench with 10, including five offensive rebounds.
Ashley Musser hit the only two made 3-point shots on the night for Lone Tree.
Kelsey Lint led all scorers with 23 points and also had 16 rebounds.
