1935 - 2019

Herman E. Miller, 84, of Guthrie, Ky., passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at his home of natural causes. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at the South District Amish Church with Bishop Marvin Kanagy officiating. Interment followed at the South District Amish Church Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Ezra and Edna Brenneman Miller. Mr. Miller was a minister and a member of the South District Amish Church and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by two brothers: Joe Miller Jr. and Mark (Dora) Miller, both of Kalona; one sister: Ida Miller of Carpenter, Wyo.; five grandchildren: Wilma JoAnn, Martha Rose, Lovina Kay, Glen Leroy (Ginger) and Suetta Anne; one great-grandchild: Carrie Marie; one son-in-law: Sam (Rosemary) Coblentz of Guthrie; one brother-in-law: Mose I. Miller of Donniphan, Mo.; and two sisters-in-law: Susie Miller of Delaware and Edna Miller of Iowa.

He was preceded by his parents; one son: Arlis Miller in 2007; one daughter: Carrie Coblentz in 1988; three brothers: Chester, Mahlon and Edward Miller; and two sisters: Catherine Yoder and Barbara Miller.
